I acquired these frogs from Caltech pond.  Helen and I collected many frogs and tadpoles.  We also found some water snails, tiny fish, and a crayfish.

After Jumbo ate K.T. I was very angry.  Though I was mad at Jumbo, I was angrier with myself.  I knew that I could not prevent the natural order of things and the remaining animals were sent back to the pond to live out the rest of their days.  Toe D. was my favorite frog, because he was the underfrog.

My first pet, other than some gold fish, was a tadpole named "Tad."  I watched him grow up almost into a frog.  A tragic accident ended his life.  I placed him in a grave in my backyard.  He taught me much about life.

In Chinese, tadpoles are called "kuh-dohs."  A very cute name.
